Question by : If i have a macbook, can i install pro software program on it once it is wiped out?
i have a slow running macbook, can i install macbook pro software program and make it perform? i am going to wipe it clean just before i do it. i just lost my macbook software

macbooks and macbook pro’s both run the same version of OS X. the hardware is the distinction which tends to make the pro’s faster.

   This should work, you need to use the Macbook Pro Install CD, you can also use any other MacOSx installer. All you do is insert the cd at startup and hold the option button until it shows you which device to boot from. After that it’s basically easy step by step installation.

   OS X runs on all Apple PCs with similar hardware specs. But, if you’re trying to use a friend’s OS X DVD, it may not work.

   Don’t!!! Do an ‘Archive and Install’ ONLY. Then, if your friend’s OS X DVD fails:

   Order replacement OS X disks for your PC, directly from Apple, and, remember this next time: Don’t lose them.
